New Year, New Moments

It’s a new year. Or it’s another year. This all depends on your perspective. Is it a new year or another year?

Do you want another year like last year? Or a year, unlike last year? How have you stepped into this year?

Our perspective on the year determines our possibilities and potential. In December 2023, I entered an unexpected gem that turned my entry into 2024 upside down. This gem impacted my perspective so drastically that I decided to overhaul my office for the coming new. This gem set me up for a renewed focus and determination, inspiring me to be at the wheel of my calendar rather than behind the demands of my time.

​Deep Work by Cal Newton was the gem God brought me in the last month of 2023. It brought clarity to my jumbled thoughts of what needed to be done. It focused me on setting a schedule that secured the tasks before me. This book gave me a clear message I had searched for but was left wanting every time.

I entered 2024 in pursuit of personal growth in multiple areas of my work life. I desired to strengthen my gift for leadership. I was delighted to set a goal and see it achieved. I stepped up my level of reading to expand my understanding. I pursued personal growth because of the message Cal Newton took the time to pen.

Personal Growth yields intentional focus for surrendered obedience, and I will always want more of that for my life. I desire that for your life as well—every day, every month, for the whole year. Through my obedience to surrender my ways for my days through the Spirit’s prompting, I experienced a growth spurt.

Surrender. Obedience. Growth.

It’s a sweet spot where beauty exists in the presence of our Creator. And I want you to know this sweet spot where beauty can exist in 2025. Not that you haven’t known this sweet spot. Not that you haven’t experienced this beauty. But I want you to intentionally walk toward Personal Growth this year through surrendered obedience to the one you call “Lord.”

Each month you receive Selah this year, you will be inspired, encouraged, and prompted for more! You will receive suggestions with tools to keep moving forward. You will be challenged to step into your life for Kingdom influence through lasting impact.

May you be prepared for the Spirit to open and enlarge your personal growth through His presence in your day. May you desire His ways to become your mindset each day. May you anticipate God’s delight through your surrendered obedience to His influence daily.

Let 2025 begin! God is always at work, and until He calls us home to Him, we should be at work seeking more of Him for His glory in a lost and dying world. Prepare your head, heart, and soul for measurable growth this year through surrendered obedience to Adonai, your Master and Lord.
