Are you too satisfied in this world to hunger for God’s righteousness?
Hunger and thirst for righteousness. Matthew 5:6
Is this world distracting with pleasures so you don’t seek God?
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Matthew 6:33
This world is not our permanent home. So why do we go for long periods of time without looking forward to our home yet to come?
I have gone to prepare a place for you. John 14:3
Let us not become so content with this world that we cease to experience the presence of the Most High.
Let us not find our comfort in worldly things that we quit leaning into Him.
Let us not become distracted with the pleasures of this world but rather seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
We should “ask God without ceasing that our eyes be open to the insufficiency of worldly pleasures, even the innocent ones. And we must plead that the taste buds of our souls be ever alive to the beauty of Christ.” – John Piper, When I Don’t Desire God, p170
Living Deeper Still is pleading for our taste buds to be alive to the beauty of Christ and what’s to come.
