givefreely

God freely gave us his grace because of the One he loves.

Ephesians 1:6 (NIrV)

Daily remembering the cross of Christ should daily remind us of …

Grace

Forgiveness

Love

and

Compassion.

God’s grace isn’t meant to be held on to for ourselves as a guarantee for our eternity. His grace is meant to be received and then given freely to those around us because our gratitude for His grace toward us is compelling.

God’s forgiveness isn’t meant to wash only our sins as white as snow. His forgiveness is meant to be received and then given freely to those around us because our gratitude for His unconditional forgiveness toward us is overwhelming.

God’s love isn’t meant to be hoarded by us alone. His love is meant to be fully received and then given freely to those around us because our gratitude for His undying love toward us is breathtaking.

God’s compassion isn’t meant for us to wrap up only ourselves. His compassion is meant be fully received and then given freely to those around us because our gratitude for His undeserving compassion toward is captivating.

Do you know missed opportunities where you could have freely given grace, forgiveness, love or compassion, but didn’t? Do you know missed opportunities where you held onto His grace and forgiveness for yourself, not extending it to another? Do you know missed opportunities where you hoarded His love and wrapped yourself up in His compassion when you could have given it freely because there is more than enough to go around?

We should give freely because we were first given freely to.

The beauty of remembering the cross of Christ daily is that God’s grace, forgiveness, love and compassion don’t hold us down in regret and guilt, but raise us up in freedom and favor so that we can freely give grace, forgiveness, love and compassion to those around us.

We should give freely because we were first given freely to.

The symbol of the cross visually placed throughout our day is not to make public that we have a religion, but should daily remind us that through God’s grace, forgiveness, love and compassion, we have a relationship with the Creator of the heavens and the earth through the cross of Christ, and Christ alone.

Living Deeper Still is daily remembering the cross of Christ so that we might freely give to others what Christ freely gave to us.
